Rotherham United Chairman Tony Stewart Reveals Why Manager Search is Ongoing
Hunt for New Manager Continues
Reason for Delay Disclosed
Rotherham United chairman Tony Stewart has revealed the reason behind the club's protracted search for a new manager, which is still ongoing despite the season being well underway.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the team's crucial match at Wembley tomorrow, Stewart explained that the club's board had been carefully considering a number of potential candidates, but had yet to find the right fit.
"We've had a lot of interest in the position, and we've spoken to a number of very good candidates," Stewart said. "But we're not going to rush into anything. We want to make sure we get the right person for the job."
Stewart added that the club had already received a raft of applications, but that they were still in the process of whittling down the list.
"We've had a lot of interest, which is encouraging," Stewart said. "But we're going to take our time and make sure we make the right decision."
Rotherham United are currently 21st in League One, and have won just one of their last five matches. The club's last manager, Paul Warne, left in September to join Derby County.
The Millers are hoping to secure a victory at Wembley tomorrow, which would give them a much-needed boost in their quest for promotion to the Championship.
