Nationals Jacob Young Pulled Due To Shoulder Injury

Nationals' Jacob Young: Pulled due to shoulder injury

Young had started to feel pain in his shoulder during Monday's game.

The Nationals placed Young on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right shoulder impingement.

Nationals reliever Jacob Young was pulled from Monday's game against the Braves due to right shoulder discomfort.

Young, 29, had been warming up in the bullpen when he felt the pain. He was scheduled to enter in the eighth inning, but manager Dave Martinez decided to go with another reliever instead.

The Nationals placed Young on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right shoulder impingement. He is expected to miss at least two weeks.

This is the second time Young has been on the injured list this season. He missed three weeks in April with a right shoulder strain.

Young has been a valuable member of the Nationals' bullpen this season. He has a 3.00 ERA in 27 appearances, with 29 strikeouts in 27 innings.

The Nationals are hopeful that Young will be able to return to the mound soon. They are currently in the midst of a playoff race, and they will need all hands on deck to make a run at a Wild Card berth.
