Scottie Scheffler Leads FedEx Cup Standings Heading into Tour Championship
The Race for the FedEx Cup
The PGA Tour season is winding down, and the FedEx Cup playoffs are set to begin. The top 125 players in the FedEx Cup standings will compete in the three-event playoffs, with the winner of the Tour Championship claiming the FedEx Cup title and a $15 million prize.
Scheffler in Control
Scottie Scheffler is the current leader in the FedEx Cup standings. He has won four tournaments this season, including the Masters Tournament and the U.S. Open. Scheffler is in a strong position to win the FedEx Cup, as he has a 2,000-point lead over second-place Rory McIlroy.
Other Contenders
McIlroy is the only player who has a realistic chance of catching Scheffler in the FedEx Cup standings. He has won three tournaments this season, including the RBC Canadian Open and the Tour Championship. McIlroy will need to win the Tour Championship and have Scheffler finish outside the top 10 in order to win the FedEx Cup. Other players who are in contention for the FedEx Cup include Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele, and Jon Rahm. Cantlay has won two tournaments this season, including the BMW Championship. Schauffele has won one tournament this season, the Genesis Scottish Open. Rahm has not won a tournament this season, but he has been consistently in contention.
The Tour Championship
The Tour Championship will be held at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia. The tournament will be played from August 25-28. The winner of the Tour Championship will receive a $15 million prize and the FedEx Cup trophy.
How to Watch
